The down days

The down days

More often than not, I find myself not being called to paint. This period can last for days, weeks and months on end.

What is funny about this downtime is that I sometimes wonder if I will ever be able to paint the way I do again ? or will I ever have the heart to lift a brush, a paint or a new canvas ever again.

At first, I try to force myself to paint as I thought that maybe… Maybe if I jump start the process, then the heart will follow …

Results: NADA. It is a huge no go.

That is why I know for a fact that my art is made from my heart and is created to touch your heart space.

The heart knows far beyond what the mind can reach. Some people told me that they don't understand my abstract art because they can’t see what is in it or what shape it portrays.

But that is the beauty of it.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. Not every painting is made for everyone to know and love. But once you get to see what you love, I promise you that your head will turn and your heart will start to wonder.

That is the sign that your heart space is beginning to open to receive more than what the eyes can see.

With much love and light,

Jhoanne Asva
